Open Source For Creating Soft Wear, DIY Turns To DIT

DIY translates to SIY, aka Sew It Yourself, on Burda’s social network site Burda Style, where stichers, crafters and knitters share techniques and tips for creating cool knits and new patterns.

And actually now that I came to think about it…DIY is a bit misleading term to use these days when the principles of open source rule everywhere and one of the biggest drivers behind DIY movement are social networks. So, instead of Y I think I’m going to start using T after the letters D and I, to stand for Together. Even if the whole idea of DIY is designing and producing things by yourself, the whole process of creating new things is usually not done alone but in a relationship and interaction with social networks, related DIY communities.
